Abstract

In this study, the variables to be identified include the frequency and number of hospital admissions, the mortality rate, the health care cost, and the number of patients enrolled in the proposed initiative. To discern these trends, measures of central tendency (such as the mean and median) and percentages need to be applied before presenting the results via statistical tables, graphs, and charts. Should there be a reduction in health care costs and the number of hospital admissions, especially in the wake of improved quality of life (and an increase in the number of high-risk patients willing to enroll (or enrolled) in the proposed initiative of advance care planning), it can be concluded that the program reflects a feasible pharmaceutical solution to the identified challenge facing the ICU section.
